Appealing to a variety of people in a wide range of circumstances, Dog Days home sitting service provides reliable, capable sitters to live in your house and look after your pets when you are away. Our house sitters also help provide added security for your home and can even tend to the garden. (fees apply).

Apart from the usual outings for shopping etc, your house sitter will spend the majority of each 24 hour period in residence at your home.

Whether you have one or many domestic pets, our home sitters are experienced animal carers and will feed / fuss / clean out and exercise your pets.

We can also take extra care of older pets that simply could not be left in kennels and would be too great a burden for family members to look after. We can administer medicine for those who need it and organise trips to the vet when required.

....for your home security....

According to local government guidelines, the number one security tip when leaving your home unattended is;

 

 “make sure your house looks like someone is living in it”.

Recommendations include – suspending mail and home deliveries, leaving curtains open, installing timer switches to turn lights on and off and installing security cameras. Whilst these recommendations are no doubt sound, they take time to arrange, costs money and arguably might not be 100% effective.

When you employ a Dog Days home sitter, by default your house will be “lived in”. And whilst we are not a replacement for paid security guards, we can take all the normal security measures you would do yourself.
....for your garden....

The last thing you need when you return from a long break is to be faced with overgrown grass, giant thistles in your boarders and prize plants that have died through lack of water.

If you need your garden tending when you are away, we have home sitters with green fingers who will be more than happy to cut your grass, weed boarders and water anything and everything.

We are not landscape gardeners but we can tend to many garden maintenance tasks.

Making last minute arrangements for the care of your house and pets is a stressful affair that can often take the pleasure out of what should be a relaxing time.

Employing a home sitter will remove a lot of these worries – we can even arrange to drive you to the airport removing the cost and stress of parking. It’s all part of the service.

step 1....your quotation.

Providing you with a quotation is simple and quick.

There are two options;

You can call us free on 0800 634 7419 and we will ask you a few simple questions before giving you a price on the phone. We ask about the pets you have and the size and location of your house and garden. We also ask about any special security arrangements you might have and any gardening duties you would like us to undertake.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can complete our online enquiry form here and we will call you back to confirm a price.
step 2....meet the sitter

When you are happy to proceed, we will assign a sitter based on the “best fit” for your requirements.

We employ a variety of sitters, male, female, singles and couples, some who are keen gardeners and some who have experience in stable management. All our sitters have considerable experience with domestic animals.

Once your sitter has been assigned, we will organise a date when they can visit you at your home to complete a pre-assignment questionnaire which forms the basis of our agreement with you.


step 3....confirm your booking

After you have met your sitter(s) and you have told us you are happy to proceed, we will then send you our invoice.

Payment is due 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the assignment and your booking is confirmed when we have received your signed pre-assignment questionnaire along with payment in full.

Payment can be made either online via bank transfer or by cheque.
step 4....thats it....we're done

On the day of your departure, your sitter(s) will arrive at the agreed time.

From that moment on you'll be able to concentrate on the more important things like preparations for your journey, the business trip at hand or final arrangements for your holiday.

One final point! Subject to it being practical for your sitter to drive your car, we can (at your option) drive you to the airport. This has the added benefit of saving you the airport parking fees as we can also collect you when you return.

about our home sitters.

Dog Days employs a variety of sitters, male, female, singles and couples from many different walks of life.

Whilst the majority are in early retirement, others have jobs they can continue in their free time, (when not engaged in house sitting) for example artists, authors and seamstresses.

Newly recruited home sitters are comprehensively interviewed by dog days and are also police checked. We speak to three referees in every case and a credit search is carried out.

These measures ensure that dog days home sitters are trustworthy, capable, solvent and reliable people who are doing the job because they love it.

stable management.

Some of our sitters have experience in stable management and livestock. Just let us know your requirements and we will find the right sitter with the best skills for the task in hand.
gardening.

We have sitters with green fingers who will be happy to provide gardening services during their assignment. Services include lawn care, weeding, watering and general maintenance.

Dog Days Home Sitting Service is a trading name of Dog Days Limited. We employ all our staff directly and your contract is with us.

When dealing with Dog Days you have one payment to make and one contract to sign. You can be further reassured that all our staff are covered by our comprehensive insurance policy.
